Zechari Kris M. Santos

A Ballerina is a figure of grace, enormous discipline and resilience. I dressed the Ballerina to my fascination with fabric designs found in the eleven countries of Southeast Asia. As a youth from this region, I see the various challenges of having an ideal place to live. This artwork represents my aspiration for the people to unite, respect diversity, move towards the future, benefit from technology, provide care for the environment and heritage, and in times of difficulty, be inspired by a Ballerina. If these diverse cultures unify, our territorial waters (represented by the seashell design corset) will be much protected.
