Sheffield Museums Trust is the independent charity that operates six of the city’s leading museums and heritage sites: Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, Graves Gallery, Kelham Island Museum, Millennium Gallery, Shepherd Wheel and Weston Park Museum.

Established in 2021, the charity cares for the city’s collections of art, archaeology, social and industrial history, and natural science, alongside the Guild of St George’s John Ruskin collection and provides a home for the Ken Hawley Collection Trust’s Hawley Tool Collection. We work with communities to tell remarkable stories of Sheffield and its people, and celebrate its reputation for excellence in craft, making and innovation. Together with local, regional and national partners, we showcase home-grown creative talent and bring outstanding cultural experiences to the city.

Millennium Gallery - Main Exhibition Venue

The Millennium Gallery brings the best in art and design to Sheffield. The gallery’s changing exhibition programme showcases the best in national and international art and design alongside the region’s remarkable creative talents. Visitors will also discover collection displays celebrating Sheffield’s metalworking prowess and the remarkable art and artefacts brought to the city by the artist and writer, John Ruskin.
Sheffield’s Metalwork Collection is one of the finest in the world. Displays present over 800 examples of the cutlery, flatware and tableware that have made the city famous, as well as beautiful objects collected from every continent. The gallery is also home to the Guild of St George’s unique Ruskin Collection. Spanning art, illustrated manuscripts and minerals, the collection was established in the 1800s to inspire the people of Sheffield. Today, it’s showcased through regularly changing displays celebrating the contemporary relevance of Ruskin’s visionary ideas.

Sheffield Train Station

Sheffield Railway Station is a major transport hub located in the heart of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Opened in 1870 by the Midland Railway, it stands as one of the key stations in northern England. Serving as a gateway to the city and the Peak District beyond, Sheffield station connects passengers to major destinations including London, Manchester, Leeds, and Nottingham. It also provides tram links through the adjacent Sheffield Supertram stop, making it a central part of the city's public transport network. The station today is operated by East Midlands Railway, and blends historic architecture with modern facilities, featuring an impressive Edwardian-style façade alongside a contemporary concourse and iconic water feature.

Sheffield Culture (Part of Sheffield City Council)

Culture Sheffield is the cultural arm of Sheffield City Council, and we have been set up to co-deliver the Culture Strategy alongside organisations and freelancers in the region. Our aim is to be an accountable voice for the sector in Sheffield, benefiting communities by increasing the visibility and accessibility of culture. We hope to promote the benefits of culture for tourism and populational wellbeing, realising the socioeconomic potential of Sheffield and connecting different corners of the sector. An important part of our ethos is also to focus on championing inclusivity, diversity and sustainability. In practice we convene sector events, communicate culture through our digital channels, connect interest groups and stakeholders, champion different artforms and commission funds. Yorkshire Artspace

Established in 1977, Yorkshire Artspace is a centre for art production and a registered charity, providing industry-leading, affordable studio space for around 170 artists and makers across two sites in Sheffield city centre – Persistence Works and Exchange Place Studios. Through an exciting programme of events and exhibitions, we celebrate and share skilled contemporary art and design with the public and deliver a programme of residencies, crits and community engagement as well as offering subsidised facilities for contemporary visual artists and craft makers. About Rachael Dodd, Programme Producer Yorkshire Artspace Rachael has worked within the arts and participatory sector for over 25 years led by a belief that access to art and culture can be transformative and enrich people’s lives. In her role at Yorkshire Artspace she oversees all aspects of the Programme which includes exhibitions, residencies, community engagement and the incubation support of emerging silversmiths and ceramicists.

Yorkshire and Humber Visual Arts Network (YVAN)

YVAN is a research-led infrastructure body for the visual arts in Yorkshire and the Humber. We are founded on the creative vision of individual artists and arts organisations. We prioritise individual practitioners, artists networks, small-scale initiatives and the artist-led. YVAN is one of nine regions that make up Contemporary Visual Arts Network (CVAN) England who are part of a national alliance of visual arts networks from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Yorkshire and the Humber is a place where the visual arts thrive through the collective strength and collaboration across the sector, founded in the creative vision of individual artists. At YVAN, our mission is to be a voice and advocate for the visual arts sector in Yorkshire & the Humber, delivering a programme that effects change in the profile, reputation and sustainability of the visual arts and artists in the region.
