About
Our Mission
ArtWorks Together is an international festival, offering adult artists who have a learning disability, are autistic, or both, the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents to the entire world to gain the recognition they deserve.
Our goal has always been to support the creative practice of adults who have a learning disability, are autistic or both. We wholeheartedly recognise that opportunities do not present themselves to all people in equal measure. We are determined to minimise the effect living with a learning disability and/or on the autism spectrum has on a person's right to participate within the arts.
How it Started
The first ArtWorks Together launched in 2021, attracting an incredible response of over 1,000 submissions for the exhibition open call! We are extremely grateful to Wentworth Woodhouse for hosting ArtWorks Together in both 2021 and 2023, providing a spectacular venue that helped bring the project to life in its early years. These initial editions not only showcased incredible talent but also helped shift perceptions and promote greater inclusion within the arts.
Looking ahead to 2026, ArtWorks Together aims to be bigger and bolder than ever before. We are excited to be bringing the 2026 festival programme to new venues across South Yorkshire including the Millennium Gallery, Sheffield Train Station and more. With even more opportunities to showcase talent and an expanded programme of workshops and events, we will continue to champion artists who have a learning disability, are autistic, or both. Together, we are creating a platform where every artist can thrive, be seen and be celebrated on an international stage.
