"I made this piece when I was having a pretty difficult time. Even though I was struggling, I always felt calm at sculpture class. It was therapeutic to make the form of the coral reef with the repetitive motion of creating small white coils. The colour white is also clean and meditative to me, and I love to work with it. I feel like it clears my mind. Even though the coral is fragile, it is inside a sturdy piece of wood to keep it safe. I hope people see this piece and feel happy knowing the coral is safe inside."
