Little Wing
Found-object sculpture (steel, copper)
Noel Lockley
England
"The sculpture is entirely made from repurposed metal, highlighting sustainability and a creative transformation, where industrial remnants find new life as organic forms.
The thorns symbolise the everyday life challenges of trying to navigate a complex world of hidden, unwritten rules.
The flowing form of the bird represents my attempt to navigate through these everyday difficulties and obstacles while striving to remain unharmed or unaffected.
The contrast between the moving bird and the thorns effectively conveys the tension and effort involved in this constant journey.
This piece was cut and welded in my home workspace over several months."
