Kota Urai

Kota has been doing this type of art for over seven years, expanding the Japanese art of paper-cutting known as kirie. He uses specific scissors to cut ordinary origami paper in a special way, creating his own unique style of kirie. Recently, he has started collaging his art onto canvas. He derives pure joy from creating art in the corner of our living room, sitting at his desk all day long. If you look closely at his work, and use your imagination, you will see living creatures, which he also loves to envision and portray in his art.
