This has been written by Tina Dempsey and Jennifer Gilbert, who support Candice with her art practice.

Over time it's become clear that Candice is responding to her surroundings through her artworks, with this piece created in the summer in her garden, surrounded by nature. Other works have a different look and feel depending on the social environment. When drawing, she becomes completely absorbed into the work, independently choosing materials from those set out, and asking for particular colours when she desires. She rotates the drawing pad as she works, with her mood dictating the type and speed of the marks made.
